Why CBI

Four reasons people actually do this

We skip the marketing copy. Here are the real motivations across our client base.

Visa-free travel

A Caribbean passport unlocks 140+ countries visa-free, including the UK, EU Schengen, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Plan B

An exit option that doesn't require a flight booking. Useful when politics, currency, or geography turn against you.

Tax restructuring

Paired with the right tax residency move, a second citizenship can legally lower personal tax exposure on global income.

Family security

Most programs include spouse, children under 30, and dependent parents on the same application. The price scales only with how many people are added.

Programs

Five programs, honest tradeoffs

Cheaper means smaller country. Faster means stricter due diligence. EU by descent means proving heritage. Pick the tradeoff that matches your goal.

Every amount shown is the final, all-in price for a single applicant. It already covers government investment, due diligence, agent fees, brokerage, and consulting. The only variable is family size: each additional person added to the application increases the total.

The Flow

How citizenship setup actually works

Four phases. Most of the work happens in the due diligence stage.

01 Step

Eligibility check

30-minute call to map your goals, source of funds, and family composition. We come back within 48h with a shortlist of programs that fit.

02 Step

Due diligence prep

The hardest part. We help you build a clean source-of-funds file, run background checks, and resolve any flags before submission.

03 Step

Filing

Our licensed local agent files with the citizenship unit. We track every status update and respond to government queries within 24h.

04 Step

Oath & passport

Approval letter, oath of allegiance (most countries allow remote oath), then passport delivered to you. Timelines range from around 3 months (Vanuatu, Grenada) to 2 years for naturalisation routes.

Pricing

Transparent, all-inclusive

One final price for the passport. Government investment, due diligence, agent fees, brokerage, consulting, and passport delivery are all baked in. The only thing that moves the total is how many family members you include.

Per program

Final all-in price

One final price per program, scaling only with how many family members are on the application. Government investment is set by each country's CBI act. Our agent fee, due diligence, brokerage, and consulting are all baked in and disclosed upfront.

  • Government investment held in escrow until approval
  • Due diligence, agent fees, brokerage, and consulting included
  • Price scales only with family size, disclosed upfront

Refund policy

Approval-conditional

The government investment is paid into escrow and only released to the treasury on approval. If your application is rejected after submission, the principal is refunded. Due diligence and agent fees are non-refundable, since the work is done.

Citizenship FAQ

The honest answers

CBI is regulated, time-bound, and not for everyone. We tell you that upfront.

Is citizenship by investment legal?

Yes, where the program exists. CBI is established by an act of parliament in each program country, including Grenada and Vanuatu. The OECD, FATF, and EU monitor these programs but do not prohibit them. Citizenship by descent (Slovenia, Croatia) and naturalisation (Colombia) are statutory routes governed by each country's nationality law.

Will I lose my current citizenship?

Most countries allow dual citizenship (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, most of EU, most of Latin America). A few do not (China, India, Singapore, Japan). We check this in the eligibility call before you spend a cent.

Do I need to live in the country?

Depends on the route. CBI grants citizenship without residency: Grenada and Vanuatu have no stay requirement before or after approval. Citizenship by descent (Slovenia, Croatia) also requires no residency. Colombia is different: it's a naturalisation route, so you do need to spend qualifying time there before applying.

Will I pass due diligence?

That depends on your background. Clean source of funds, no criminal record, no sanctions exposure, no PEP status complications: usually a yes. We pre-screen everyone before submission. If we don't see a clear path, we tell you before you pay anything beyond the eligibility call.

Can I include my family?

Yes. Grenada and Vanuatu CBI both include spouse, children (typically under 30 if financially dependent), and dependent parents in the same application. The fee scales with family size, disclosed in the quote. Descent and naturalisation routes are individual applications, but qualifying relatives can each apply on the same heritage.

What's the cheapest legitimate option?

Vanuatu, from $130K for a single applicant. Processed in 2 to 4 months. The trade-off: smaller passport (around 90 visa-free destinations vs 140 for Grenada) and tighter due diligence in recent years.

What's the fastest option?

Vanuatu, 2 to 4 months. Grenada runs around 3 months. Citizenship by descent (Slovenia, Croatia) takes 6 to 12 months. Colombia naturalisation is the slowest at roughly 2 years because it requires qualifying residency. We don't promise faster than the published timeline because we can't, and anyone who does is being dishonest.

What does the EU passport route look like?

We focus on citizenship by descent. If you have Slovenian or Croatian heritage (typically a parent or grandparent born there), you can claim EU citizenship through documentation rather than investment. Timeline is usually 6 to 12 months once the heritage file is built. No residency, no minimum investment, just fees. We can also discuss residency-then-naturalisation routes (Portugal, Spain, Latvia) at a higher level, but those take 5 to 10 years and we don't run those filings ourselves.

Will this help me pay less tax?

Maybe. A second passport doesn't change your tax residency by itself. But paired with a tax-residency move (UAE, Paraguay, Caribbean) it removes friction. We coordinate with tax counsel on the structuring side, we don't replace them.

What if my application is rejected?

The government investment principal sits in escrow and is refunded if rejected at the citizenship-unit stage. Due diligence fees and agent fees are not refundable, because the work was done. We rerun the file with an alternate program once at no extra agent fee if there's a viable alternate path.
