100% foreign ownership allowed for OÜ (Private Limited Company) in all sectors. No nationality requirements for founders, directors, or shareholders — anyone in the world can register and own an Estonian company. Single founder and single director allowed. No minimum capital required (registration possible with EUR 1 share capital). A local contact person (mandatory under Estonian law) is provided as part of the registration package.

Available through Estonian banks (LHV, Swedbank, SEB) and EU fintech providers (Wise Business, Revolut Business, Payoneer). Since 2022, Estonian banks have tightened KYC requirements for non-resident-owned companies — fintech alternatives are often faster and more practical for international entrepreneurs. Bank decisions are at their discretion; proper documentation and clear business descriptions significantly improve approval chances.
Personal bank accounts in Estonia generally require residence permit or strong ties to Estonia (employment, business ownership, property). Fintech alternatives (Wise, Revolut) are available without Estonian residence. Banks may request proof of source of funds and tax residency.
